At Vital, we’re committed to continuously improving and updating our services and products to better meet the needs of our customers. Here’s a roundup of the latest updates and enhancements we’ve implemented to enhance your experience with our offerings.

Ensuring Secure Communications: Minimum TLS 1.2 Requirement

Starting by the end of November, our Production Vital API will require a minimum of TLS 1.2 to ensure enhanced security and performance. This update is expected to be seamless for most users, as it only affects backend stacks using outdated HTTP client libraries. This change does not impact any Android and iOS OS releases supported by the Vital Mobile SDKs.

New Features and Integrations

  • Documentation for ETL Pipelines: We have introduced detailed documentation for ETL Pipelines integration tailored for our Vital Enterprise customers. This comprehensive guide is now available on our documentation site.
  • Vital Flutter SDK 2.0: Our updated SDK now supports Flutter SDK 3.0+, includes a Beta integration with Android Health Connect, and supports Vital Sign-In Tokens. Further details can be found on our authentication documentation.
  • Vital Sign-In Tokens: We’ve rolled out a new authentication scheme for our mobile SDKs, allowing API keys to remain server-side secrets, enhancing security across mobile applications.
  • Cronometer Integration: A beta version of our Cronometer integration is now available in the Sandbox environment, expanding our health management ecosystem.

Performance Improvements and Bug Fixes

  • Node SDK Updates: The missing Link.codeCreate endpoint is now available in the latest release of our Node SDK (version 2.1.22).
  • Integration Recoveries: Our EightSleep and MyFitnessPal integrations have recovered from provider API issues, ensuring seamless data integration and synchronization.
  • Workflow Enhancements: The sequence of events in workout streams for devices like Fitbit, Garmin, Wahoo, and Zwift has been refined to ensure a more logical data flow.

Enhanced Customization Options

  • Email and SMS Customizations: We now offer separate flags to enable customization of emails and SMS, including disabling specific messages in the default workflow.
  • White Labeling Options: Customize email templates to align with your brand’s identity, enhancing your customer’s experience.
  • At Home Phlebotomy Booking: Enhancements to our At Home Phlebotomy orders now include autofill information based on previous user interactions, streamlining the booking process.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to enhance our platform, please be aware that the deprecation cycle for certain field updates in our API will conclude on January 1, 2024. We encourage all users to review the related updates in our API documentation and adjust their integrations accordingly.
